The Fajita Fairies

This Thurs saw the arrival of nieces 1 and 2 (or Jess and Grace as they are alternatively known) magically appearing chez nous with all the ingredients for a marvellous chicken fajitas dinner. Plus their parentals Rick & Heather who had made the effort to come from the depths of wildest Kent to join us (and snaffle a free meal from their elder two offspring).

Was much appreciated, not least as I had spent 3 hours chez Prof unexpectedly that morning, then returned to PS for a top right side chest MRI (I've got a new sharp pain somewhere betwixt boob and armpit and it needs checking out), so coming home to dinner being made, and by the nieces in particular, was really rather lovely.

Rick also had his dog beast in tow (I can't get over that she's called Nancy – try shouting that in a London park and making it home without being beaten up by someone..) and she took a quick liking to Scrumpy's bed, who was less than pleased and refused to get in with her for the 'look, two pretty black and white dogs in the same basket photo' – this was as good as it got:

I'm not sure poor old Mum entirely grasped the concept of a fajita as she looked blankly at it when it was on her plate, so we took the 'deconstructing food trend' – also known as unwrapping the entire thing and spreading the ingredients round her plate till it was deemed suitably small to poke a fork into.

Well done Jess & Grace – I shall have to think of other fave meals and get you back over for another bash. Nad next time NO OPENING THE ONION RINGS when we are just about to sit down and I have to not only SHARE them but also THROW SOME under H's steely glare at the end of the meal, both hoo. That never happens when I'm noshing them on my tod, I can tell you…

xx

PS Jess – the bloke I mistakenly texted at your old company because I used your old text number is still replying to my apologetic notes – I;m quite getting to like young 'Jonny'…. Perhaps he can come too next time?
