Here it comes in pictorial format – the bizarrely entertaining and off-the-grid 4 days in Tennessee (yes, maaaaaaaaam!) followed by 4 slightly more stylish and trendy (well, the place, not us necessarily) days in good old Miami.
Proof that we did actually venture into and up the Great Smoky Mountains – clock that white fuzz in the background. Almost as good as the large amount of concrete path that was determined to join the shot.
Followed by our 'hoss' adventure with wild local boy Darlston. Made all the more amusing by his insistence that a 'burr' (black bear) had definitely just scrambled down the path side bank we were passing. Oh yes, we were both born yesterday and can recognise a regular old mini landslide all by our urban cowgirl selves…
On to the ever more weird world of the Dolly Dixie Stampede – a 'dinner show' where it transpired there was no booze for sale at all – cue the lovely plastic Dolly boots, complete with heel spur, containing nothing more exciting than a blue and orange slushy. For grown adults. Thank god for the Tanqueray and tonics back in our Tennessee motel….
Wait!!! Which one is the real Dolly Parton? Even with an alcohol free head, it was So hard to tell….
Amazing how almost every place we go on holiday to seems to offer an opportunity for a giant capon / huge cock shot. Sleepy little Pigeon Forge did not disappoint – cock a doodle doo.
And onwards to Chatanooga – distinct lack of actual Choo-Choos but instead has a place called Lookout Mountain where you can, yup its a great name for it, look out across 7 different US states. Lovely sunny day with eagles soaring beneath us and topped off by a route back to the car park involving an underground fairy grotto with spooky fairytale characters that made J practically leg it out of the place. Worth the 20 bucks for that alone!
Nothing humungous to add for Miami – I think we've taken every photo there ever was there already. Just a token cocktail shot in case you were worried that I'd lost my touch – here it is, bottoms up!
Still so massively chuffed that we managed to actually get away, even if there were compromises that had to be made in terms of walking, breathing, carrying, what activities were possible etc – I saw the sun, did a different 'thing' every day and felt almost like me for a little while. And that, in this world, is priceless. Thanks J.

Looks amazing. There was a cheap lewd pun to be had relating to the pics, but I refrained. Maybe I am growing up after all. Glad you had a ball! xxx
