Up the Dome

Yep – just managed to redeem my very nice birthday present (Oct 2016!) from Vicki, Sophie & Nicky on Friday night – a climb up the Dome / O2.

Approached with some trepidation given my breathing issues – and of course had to do the usual 'who me, no, nothing wrong with me' answer when asked if anyone in the group had medical issues. Just no point in ever answering yes to that as it buggers everything up.

Got togged out in the giant man shoes with sticky grip, sexy gilet and carbon harness gear and – luckily just the 4 of us as a group – off we went up the bouncy walkway.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

First section is the steepest, so had to employ the age-old technique of 'oh lets stop and admire the view' several times on the way up. But made it easily enough to the viewing platform.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A few hair blowing issues were the only problem – that and needing to laugh at Vicki's Top Gun look on a regular basis.

Still – at least I managed it and a very good birthday prize it was too, cheers girls.
