Afternoon at the the cricket..

No – not Lords or anything, instead an afternoon with Hatch at the very posh Cranleigh School, having a long overdue catch up while pretending to watch Jack play cricket for his Surrey practice team.

Well, actually I managed to watch every single second avidly of his innings – as the poor lad was out on the third ball. Good job Godmother Scotty was poised with camera right from his first step onto the crease or there'd have been no photos to show at all…

To be fair he is a) more of a bowler than a batsman and b) was facing some spin bowler boy who seemed far too good for the age group.

Very nice sunny afternoon, an excellent picnic provided by Hatch, and a bonus sighting of Mike & Dawn Ely whose older son Seth was playing on the next door pitch.

Just a shame I had to up sticks and hightail it all the way back home mid afternoon, to drop the dog off and then nip up to Harley Street to meet the '2nd opinion' breathing expert.

In a nutshell – he can see no one major thing wrong from all the test reports (good) but several abnormal things that pop up on each of them (okay…) so does at least believe that I have breathing issues and of course seems to want three new tests to try and flesh out what on earth it could be and how to treat it. One of which is a lung biopsy – provoking the obvious question of 'so how exactly do you get a piece of my lung (which I am currently using!)' – answer of course is another general anaesthetic and a puncture through the ribs to extract a nice juicy bit. And that was only one of the 3 bits of joy he has in store. Deep breath (ironically), and on she goes…
