Its taken me the best part of 3 hours to finally get up this morning, mostly as I couldn't face mixing up yet more paracetamol to ease my way out of bed. And I am now in the kitchen with just my slippers on my feet as socks were a step too far today.
Had a good diversion day with Rachel McDowell yesterday – kindly schlepped all the way down from Manchester to hang out with me. She is claiming that her dog's poo smells like roses while Scrumpy's was enough to make her retch – that was the best laugh in ages as she bent down to rescue the turd mountain on the common.
Have got one more appointment with the chest/lungs consultant this morning – where I will have to tread a fine line between 'for fuck's sake, it's been two years now, the tablets are useless and I am at the end of my tether' and 'it's under control, no need to report to Prof or he will put the SCR date back'. Just desperate for her to come up with a new plan for post-SCT as the chances of it improving my breathing are very slim so something medical will be needed I suspect.
Claire White is popping over for lunch – an under-baked jacket potato, as I don't like leaving them in the oven, and won't be back in quite enough time.. How delicious.
And Mr H came back from skiing (well, snow-shoeing for him) last night, so it's final 'date night' this evening. Sadly I can't really face going out so I might try and defrost something thrilling in the freezer. Oh the glamour.
Thanks to the lovelies who have offered to come and keep me company in the Darkside over the coming weeks – weekday mornings are – unsurprisingly – the least popular so far, so if any crop up then let me know. But am doing well for offers for the first week, so thank you all, and keep them coming please.
I hurt all over right now. My back is very sore from the physio just getting me to 'sit up, then slump' yesterday. My legs feel pretty weak and just getting up and down is an arse. I just hope this bloody transplant magically improves some things, because I can't crawl from day to day like this much longer.
Fingers toes and everything crossed – not long now x
