Day 8, time crawls along when you constantly feel like you've got a bad hangover and might be sick at any time… they've added in another anti-sickness drug so we'll see if it stops the acid feeling. Weird that if I actually let myself think about the dreaded swirling mouthwashes or heaving up, I reckon I could spontaneously make myself vomit within seconds. Am very much trying not to..
Awake by 5am again so another pretty long day ahead. Am finding it harder to drink liquids so having to constantly ask for ice to cool these, so they cut across my very furry tongue and mouth a bit better.
Liz T came today, helped me put up a few of Vicki's pictures – including across the one actual wall picture in my room, which is of three zebra arses. A definite improvement.
Then Mr H popped up, followed by Mikey & Margo after work. Cheers guys, loved the little vid of Patrick wishing me better. Good natter – was utterly bushed after, so hopefully that bodes well for a decent sleep. Art from them coming back at 10pm to hook me up to the third IV dose of antibiotics for the day, does;t exactly help a restful night..
I have no visitors booked this weekend and only a handful in for next week so far. Text me if you have a bit of spare time and hopefully I'll still be ok enough to have people in.
Neutrophils have crashed from 8 yesterday to 1.24 today, so will almost certainly continue to go down before they go on back up again. That'll be why I've got a sore throat today then. And feel shattered and about as blurgh as a person can.
And why I'm now on the 'clean diet' here, with some pressure to eat more than I am now, to keep my protein levels up. Took one bite of dinner and heaved it into my serviette but did then manage a few items of a tuna sandwich – plain is the new tasty.
So forgive me if I have to cancel, we are getting into 'that bit' of the process here. No pressure if you can't make it – there will be more opportunity when I finally get out of here and am back home.
Cheers all, S x
