Saturday Night’s All Right for Fighting (or dancing)

Good eve last night at the Elton John concert at the Stoop – yes, Quins' ground in Twickenham. Nice smallish venue and able to move out of our seats as everyone standing up in the ground level area.

Went with Clare G & Andy and their 2 chums – and when the heavens duly opened at 9pm how smug were we to have not only umbrellas and the Booth raincoats but a handy roll of black bin liners in my handbag – I think I rocked the plastic skirt look…. Best £1 I've spent in ages…

Thanks again to C&A for the lifts to and from the train – got home at a very decent 10pm to find poor Mum sitting with Hawksey at the bottom of the stairs, having got up and dressed herself (well, sort of, she can't really do this any more). She had rifled her cupboard in search of trousers and finally found a dress, so had then come downstairs. (Shows she can do those stairs when the will is there!) Thought it was 10am Sunday, which is exactly when she gets picked up for church, so her timing was interestingly accurate. But sadly, she'd peaked 12 hours early and it was still Saturday night, bless her…

She was still a bit indignant that no-one had brought her morning cup of tea (as it was night time!) and that I had no third her calling (as I was out..) but eventually realised it was actually time to head back to bed, and was a bit sad that she'd made a mistake. Poor Mummy – at least she'd pretty much forgotten about it this morning, that's always the upside.. x
