Having trogged to the rather unlovely Quentin Hogg sports ground in Chiswick on Saturday, I was treated to one of the crappiest hockey matches I've seen in a while. 70 minutes of definitely not our best play and at one point we were 0-1 down. Luckily, the girls then remembered that it was our Xmas bash that evening and that it would all feel a lot better with a win under our belts. Thank god it ended up 2-1 to us…
Thence headed off for a spot of bowling. Now, I've never been very good at this, not least because apparently I stuff the wrong three fingers in the bowling ball for starters. But – miraculously I came second out of 15 of us in the second of our two games, so was feeling rather chuffed with myself. And Claire came first, which felt like karma.
Here are the girls – at this point only about 2 pints into proceedings, so looking relatively unscathed as yet. Nipped upstairs afterwards into Prezzo for the annual Secret Santa – I ended up with quite a nice colour changing glass and some sort of shot thing. Not entirely sure as they were taken home for me, as I then went up to Bermondsey to Dav & Guy's party.
Very smart gaff, waiting staff and a jazz band – all made slightly less posh by the 1980s dress theme. I think I rocked my multi striped leg warmers and 'I (heart) 80's' borrowed top…
Still impressed that I managed to get on the right bus at Waterloo and off at the right stop on Tower Bridge Road. It definitely wasn't SW19…. And v nice to see James & Dominic, Kate McDougle and Emily Smith – familiar faces and a nattery catch up most welcome!
