There's one very lovely thing about coming back from 4 weeks away – which is catching up with everyone! Or as many as possible without getting too knackered in the process.
Started with a BBQ at Pam's with Mark & George, a fine feast as always and very good to be sitting out in the UK at last.
Then a lunch out with Anita & Rob from next door to Mon Plaisir in London – a little French restaurant that they love and which both Pam & Janine happened to have also mentioned – very unusual given the number of eateries in town – so it had to be tried. One long lunch later, very full and very happy. Check out one of my new tops from Miami – which Janine rather unkindly named my 'clown top' – harsh! And the very 1970's dessert….hilarious.
Then it was down to the cottage for AV girls' weekend – usually the one closest to Sarah's birthday as she is the only one of the 5 of us to be blessed with a summer birthday! Spent Fri eve at 'Chi, darling' (Chichester festival Theatre) watching this year's musical – Oliver. Very good cast, a slightly too jokey Fagin (obvs going for the family audiences when this inevitably transfers to the West End) and warm enough for a picnic outside before the show. Then a bit of sculptures and gardens on the Sat pre ~BBQ in the coot garden – perfect!
Mr H in the meantime was busy as a bread making course in Borough Market – here with his day's creations! So far I've only had a seeded bagel but the rest is in the freezer and is ALL MINE.
