A Busy Few Days

Last Thursday saw the epic dual day of next door's younger girl Charlotte getting her GCSE results (a string of 9's!) and her sister Ellie turning 18. We were there for morning exam results, lunch (and Ellie's first legal round) in the pub and then afternoon birthday tea – somewhat glad we weren't also invited out for birthday dinner as the excitement of the first three events had tired us out!

We nailed Ellie's gift – she has become the Aperol queen having tested many out in different European cities on this summer's Interrail trip – so it was an easy one to start off her Uni booze cupboard.

Then headed to the coot for the weekend – a lovely Friday, a very wet Saturday (cue the full dog walking waterproof hat and rain jacket, far too early to have those out in blooming August), and then sunny again by Sunday so we could do a longish walk with a bbq buffet lunch at a boozer on the way round.

Back in time to knock out a BBQ for 2 sets of the neighbours on Bank Hol Mon – and blag an overnight stay for Maddie in October when we head to Bruges for my birthday. No such thing as a free lunch, tee tee x
