Spent Saturday eve relishing the fact that another good chum has hit the delicious 50 mark to keep me company.
Helen Vickery, a very good friend of mine from college days – who, despite being very religious and a musician at college (she's still a musician!) managed to become room mates with me and we've stayed regularly in touch ever since.
Why the title of this post? Well her college name was actually Fruity F*ckwit – entirely due to her adorable scattiness which has change very little since then.
Great that our third chum Helen Tebay was also there with her other half Andrew. And a chance to catch up with Christina Astin, who was our roommate in our second year.
Excellent chinese-based food from Hel's hubby Yats too, check out the pork-filled lettuce cups creeping into the photo below, plus a nice speech. And the most extraordinary rendition of Happy Birthday that Hawksey & I will probably ever hear, given that the room was full of other musicians – jesus, the soprano was terrifyingly high..
