Yes, its very very very 'up north'. Just had a very good three night break up there with H and our chums David & Mandy (AKA the spaniel people from Harrogate), plus Scrumpy and their dog Macey.
Had a really nice little house on the edge of a (disused, fortunately) quarry, just on the outskirts of Bamburgh.
First day was a touch grey, so perfect for a long beach amble to Seahouses with Bamburgh Castle in the background. And the obligatory fish and chip lunch overlooking the harbour.
And then it was sunny all the way!
Very good trip to cute and very quiet (god knows how people live there) Holy Island / Lindisfarne (I vaguely remember brother Richard having an album of theirs in the 70s..)
Dogs loved their swimmies
Humans loved rather a lot of scoffing food and slightly too many margaritas on night 1 (I still don't remember the late night cheese on toast, oops).
Mands (or was it Scrumpy??) wrote a nice romantic thing in the sand for us (certainly wasn't either of us two!)
Good to get away for a few days and also to celebrate D&M deciding to go ahead with their new house purchase. Looking forward to the guest room walk-in wardrobe..
And a nice easy train ride both ways, first trip for the sexy Two Together railcard. God we are getting old…
