Heel Joy

So, I’ve had this pain in my heel and Achilles, right foot, for, well, probably a year or two now.

And I finally decided to try and do something about it last month, to try and be better walking form for when we go to New Zealand.

Saw a podiatrist, who recommended buying trainers and walking shoes in bigger sizes, wide fit. Hence am now £260 poorer, and look like I have elephant feet.

as that has made no difference, expect to my bank balance, I went last week for my first shockwave therapy. Turns out this involves lying face down on a bed while he applies a metal probe to my foot. This has a huge ball bearing in it that comes in four speeds.

These appear to be called Sore. Bloody Sore.Get the Fuck Off me. And I’m going to Kill You.

It’s meant to best any knots or tissue issues into submission, but is basically like having a really sore bruise and someone violently ramming something rock hard in it a few hundred times, over the course of three very long minutes.

He said the treatment can work for some people after session 1, but the average is three visits.

Me being me, of course I’ve spent this past week with an even more painful foot and am massively dreading going back this morn for session 2.

if you hear bellowing coming from the Earlsfield area, you’ll know the sadist is ramping up the levels….. x
