Xmas 2019 – Ho Ho Ho

Well, it's been a whirlwind last few days before we head off to New Zealand – loadsa social and all fab stuff.

Had Mikey & Margo and the kids round for our traditional pre-Xmas dog walk & gammon fest. Patrick is amazingly adept at tree climbing in wellies, and Emmy wants to do everything that he does, very sweet. Patrick loved his book-of-the-year that we'd made for him, and Emmy seemed happy with a giant Peppa Pig puzzle.

And had J&R over for a very beefy Sunday lunch – and a touch of present swapping, just love it when those mega bags with beautifully chosen gifties arrive with them.

And finally the Clogs arrived on the last boat from the continent, in their new monster car. Highly amusing watching Cathy trying to reverse park that down our drive in the dark after a long day.. Large V&O immediately required.. Lily has grown a lot but Daisy was still very happy that she can fit in Scrumpy's dog bed…

Had a nice walk on the common with them and the kids this morning, and am currently smelling our turkey cooking away. Sounds like ours is the winner from the various family members – H's brother Tim and Mel have gone vegan, so no bird for them, and H's nephew Reeve & Kerry-Anne had an Aldi turkey that had gone off when they unwrapped it this morning. Luckily there was an Iceland frozen one waiting 'in the wings' (boom boom), so that was handy.

Kids prezzies have gone down well – Lily loving a puzzle with little balls that you make into certain shapes (like we three used to do when Mum was a psychologist) and Daisy making the most of her rhythmic gymnastics ribbon thingy. Scrumpy is squeaking her new robin, with one eye on the Xmas chocolates..
