Aunt Ellen – Aged 99

Ah, my (one and only) cousin Adrian has just sent a really sweet photo of his Mum, my Aunt Ellen, reading her birthday card from us. Which in itself is a bloody miracle at 99 years old!

She is Dad's older sister, as Dad would have been a mere 94 this week.

Ellen is – equally amazingly – still living in her little house on the fringe of Epping Forest, where we used to go for walks when I was a child, then come back and eat huge teas and home-baked cakes, as she was such a great cook & hostess.

Hats off to you Ellen – you're looking mighty fine for 99! x
