The First Pub Lunch!

Wooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

One small step for man, one giant leap towards a tuna mayo sandwich..

Hatched a plan with Mr H this Monday for him to cycle out to Abinger Hammer in the Surrey Hills with Jules (who, bless him, then cycled all the way home) and for me to drive with the fur beast to meet the hubster in…. ta da da… the Abinger Hatch huge pub garden.

Highly recommended for a massively social distanced lunch – lots of tables, two garden areas and on a weekday at lunchtime, only 1/3 of the tables in use. Marvellous!

Automatic hand sanitisers available for use and the excitement of perusing a pub menu for the first time in months. Mr H delighted to have a pint served in a proper glass and I had to be restrained from ordering starters as well as mains, as it was all a bit over-stimulating..

Took Scrumpy for a nice walk straight from the pub, passing some pretty open fields which had – to me – some unusual looking cows in them. Now maybe I've just never noticed this breed of cow, but I did rather like them. Check out these weirdly striped monsters..

And –  turns out they are Dutch Belted Cows, so no wonder I thought they were nice..

Anyway – I didn't find my much missed tuna butty or jacket spud this time, so looks like I'll be needing to book another pub lunch out soon – result!
