An Outdoorsy Week

You've gotta love it when the sun shines like it is at the moment!! We've been making the most of the weather, getting out and about and sucking up that Vit D.

Scrumpy is making the most of her last 2 weeks of pre-operative freedom. She is booked into the Supervet on 12 August to have her other hip partially removed, but for now remains blissfully unaware of the horrors that Mum & Dad will be unleashing her in less than 2 weeks now.

Here, enjoying one of the many 'Womble Houses' as we like to see them, on the Common, and a bit of 'I'm a human baby really' lap time with Daddy.

H & I both had a cracking lunch out on Tuesday in Tunbridge Wells, at a place he had scouted for a fruits de mer scoffing opportunity. Yum yum yum – what a treat. Was our stop off before heading to see Helen Tebay's very lovely new house, and have tea together with her and the Vickery clan. Somehow managed not to take a single photo of all of us together, but did get an early one of H practically drooling into the seafood mountain. Yes, that was a plate for just us two! And he'd had 6 oysters to start with…

We've been looking after a sunflower of Nicky's that she grew from seed in lockdown, in a 'who's going to get the biggest one' mini competition with some mates. We had 3 seeds and I managed to utterly drown them all in an act of over-loving watering, so the only survivor was the one she took back and grew indoors till it needed a new outdoor home! Check out that 6 foot plus triffid…

Final trip out was a longish walk yesterday with Clare G and Smudge round Bushy Park. Always amusing watching two black and white spaniels pegging it around.. Very lucky that I had Scrumpy on the lead after a dip in this lake, as only at the very last minute did we spot the unexpected occupant of this small island in the water! What a pretty girl..

And today heralds 34 degrees apparently! So H has done what all sensible adults do on a madly hot day and has gone on a 60 mile bike ride with Jules. Madness. I am currently freezing a couple of face cloths for them to wipe off the grime of the road on their arrival… if they haven't melted en route.

Enjoy the weekend lovely people, hot, hot, HOT!
