Duolingo go go go

When H said at the beginning of the first lockdown, 'I'm going to use this time to finally learn more French' I thought, 'oh, what am I going to do every day while he's spouting le franglais?'

So I also signed up, to improve my Spanish.

Needless to say H fell off the Duo wagon after a week or two (still paying the monthly fee mind you – grr) and I, in my slightly OCD way, have kept up my 'streak', so to speak, since back in March.

Still hoping that there might be a reward (chocolate? an email from Duo the owl? a burst of applause from the app?) at some point, but in the meantime I guess its good for my Spanish and that I do at least now know bits of other tenses beyond the 'I am, I do, I live' present world.

Here's hoping that some time next year we will venture into actual Spain, to order actual food in an actual Spanish restaurant from actual Spanish people, at which point I will be so astounded, relieved and delighted that I will probably order in English.. x
