Niece and Great-Niece Lunch

Well, you certainly know that there's been a generational shift when you are no longer hosting your nieces, but being hosted for lunch by one of them now complete with own little girl! Where did those years go??

Drove over to Eltham – a slight labour of love through the not very scenic parts of Sarf London – to see Jess & Pat's new house, with its absolutely whoppingly long garden. You can barely see the house that backs onto them and little Violet is going to have some fun out there as she gets bigger.. She made the most of cuddling Scrumpy who was very happy to oblige..Violet really is a gorgeous little thing.

So nice to catch up with Jess & Abbie (with her new nose piercing!) – just a shame that Grace is so far away in Stoke, so we couldn't make it a full house of nieces.

Ans we then topped off the weekend with a visit from a same-age little man – Jaspar came for Sunday brunch with Nursey & Sophia. Who were both utterly knackered – ah the joys of two under fives in the house, we could only imagine as we fed them and sent them off for a busy afternoon, while we got the newspapers out with a nice cup of smug tea…

Anyway, H very happy showing JJ how to put seed in the bird feeder – which of course meant that Scrumpy got to eat quite a bit as it got spilled everywhere…

Still, making the most of newly social weekends and the ability to see people in a wider geographical scope, more soon please… x
