Started off with a trip to watch Harlequins, organised for us by Liz T but joined by Andy Booth with Janine, Ross & Tony Franco. Here we are wandering to the match after a pub visit and a drop in to Twickenham Brewery, one of Andy's fave haunts..
All on a stunning sunny day – not quite sunny enough for Quins to beat Sale though! Liz & Hawksey met the Quins mascot (H does love a mascot!) at half time and afterwards we ended up in the bar, somehow chatting to – and then in true rugby fashion suddenly being very good friends with – a gold-medal winning dressage Paralympian and his mate – majorly random!
Easter Mon heralded us hosting the Sadler clan from next door, including Nama (Anita's Canadian mother). H surpassed himself with 2 delicious cuts of lamb on the bbq and the neighbours brought multiple puddings. Ended up in a raspberry trifle / brownie / choc egg coma…..
Wed evening was a rare trip for me & Mr H to go the the Young Vic in town, to see a play called 'Punch'. All about what can happen when a lad gives another bloke just one punch, and accidentally kills him.
Incredibly well acted by the lead chap, David Shields, with the 'woman who played Hayley in Corrie', Julie Hesmondhalgh, as one of the 5 other cast members. Worth seeing and pleased that H (not always super keen on theatrical visitations) loved it!
And thence onto Thursday night's delight – Liz Lewzey's hen night! A most unexpected event, given they only decided to get hitched after all these years together, a few weeks back. She was 'encouraged' into agreeing to a get together of about 20 of her girly chums, mostly hockey with a smattering of golfers. So, was very nice for me to be able to see lots of the Epsom clan and huge thanks to Clarkie for corralling Bob into driving us there and me all the way home afterwards!
Just a few of us who used to tour with Puritans in the photo here – and the obligatory photo of Liz repeating what we all used to do on tour (though with creme caramels in those days) – a 'no hands bumper' of her pudding. Liz & Keith got married this morning at 10.45am – major congrats to them x x
