Just back from a long weekend in Yorkshire, to celebrate Mandy's 60th birthday – in style!
Managed to do it within the rules – phew – as there were several separate houses on the farm property, some family social bubbles and very, very luckily the weather held so we were outdoors nearly all weekend.
What a fab mix of present opening – yes, all 60 of them! – cake eating, doing the conga, disco dancing, playing with the 6 grandsons, hot tubbing, walking, pottering around Richmond (Yorkshire) and even a sports afternoon – the sack race will stay in my memory for a very long time. Poor Brenda, being manhandled both into and out of her sack!
Hawksey wobbling on Archie's overboard wearing Raff's mohican helmet, def a photo winner. And the lots of laughs when we sang You Can't Hurry Love to Mands as a group, all wearing Mandy masks… Interspersed with (quite) a few drinks outside on the terrace in the northern sun! First photo below – the 'catch the egg' competition. Yes, pretty messy, although Scrumpy did then eat most of the evidence.
Here the 'Survivors' Photo' and a few of the plastic glasses from good old Amazon that went down a storm. Apparently Raffs went to school with his tropical bird ones on and Archie loves the hot dog pair being modelled below…
A top weekend all round – and GOD how well we slept last night once we got home! Scrumpy equally shattered and with a sore paw – only Mojo is still looking sprightly this morning chez Dora.
Happy Big Birthday Mands! x
