The Pre Spain Flurry

Eek! It was a busy old week, the last few days before packing off Mr H and Mads in the car just now, packed to the gills with stuff for our two months – yes, two months – coming up in Spain.

Cathy came over for a week, ostensibly to do up the knackered external window sills on her rental flat, but also to relax in the top floor penthouse suite as she likes to call it. Had a cracking Indian takeaway the night after she arrived from Vibes of Hyderabad in Wimbers – pretty dodgy name but very good food!

She and I often wonder if we are actually related given that we look precisely nothing like each other. But we still managed a good old catch up and even a night into town to see the lovely Johannes from Strictly in Kinky Boots.

I did rather well too this week, receiving a surprise parcel in the post – who doesn’t love getting something they’re not expecting?! On this occasion a cute mug and card from Mark & Charlie – apparently they had never heard someone using the word ‘lush’ before – now there’s one that I’ve caught from H’s nephew Reeve & Kerry-Anne I think, it’s def a West Country thing.

And then it was time to finally catch up with Sophie & Nicky, Sophie being rather harder to pin down now that she has (sadly for us, but good for her) moved up to Derbyshire, partly for work and partly to be nearer family. Had a 2 nighter down at Nicky’s place in Liphook, cracking weather and little Martha was on good form too. Here we are pretending to do a walk at Cowdrey Park before hitting the gift shop, where I think we spent slightly longer!

Back yesterday in time to do some final packing, winkling things out of cupboards, changing the windscreen wipers on the car and generally trying to make sure everything that we will need in Spain in now heading down the motorway to pick up Jules and then carry on to the Brittany Ferry terminal for tonight’s sail.

I fly down with Nicky this Friday – Espana, here we come again… x
