So, after two years of waiting – and months of wondering if Cathy & the girls and Emmanuel would actually get here – last night THEY ARRIVED AT DORA!!!!
This despite Cathy on Xmas Eve saying to me 'we're just going to have dinner and then I'll have a look at booking our Day 2 PCR tests..' – arrgggghhh!
And then them leaving their passports at home, having to rush back and get them – aarrggggh!!
And then having to go to a garage to get a faulty car light replaced – AAARGGHH
And then missing the boat because of traffic – DOUBLE ARRGGHH
They did somehow manage to get through France (not easy!) and be one of only 6 cars on the ferry – Cathy waving her 'I own property in the UK' trump card.
So finally arrived about 8pm last night, to be greeted not by us (now in an Airbnb randomly in Northampton, but which luckily enables them to do their quarantine bit and PCR's before we come back in a few days' time), but by Mojo and a pile of prizes for the girls.
Mojo has already pooped on the front doormat to add her special style of greeting and is now settled on a nice warm body..
Really delighted also that no new rules to be announce din England till the NY ay least, so Cathy's 60th birthday family lunch for 17 (!) looks like it may actually go ahead on Sunday. LFTs and a final bit of luck prevailing!!!
