Uno Does Duo..

And another unexpected milestone this week – I hit a whole 700 days – yes, 700 – of doing Duolingo Spanish. Which as I'm sure I've said on here before that I only started in lockdown as H said he was going to polish up his French. And which of course he stopped doing a few days later.

Muggins here has persevered – although I almost missed a day – EEEEEK – last weekend when up celebrating David's 60th – but luckily the counting clock carried on and here I somehow am.

Still somewhat confused about verb tenses and their endings – when I originally learned Spanish in my early twenties it was all in the present tense. And I am definitely a very long way from fluent. But hoping that somehow the 700 day slog will have improved my Spanish and that the next time I make it there (currently looking like 3 days in Valencia in early July) I will totally rock it. (Note – only confident as pretty sure that neither 2 travelling chums are linguists!)

Although already pretty sure that when H & I land in Nice/Antibes tomorrow (off to do some more prep with Ashley on his boat, before they bugger off for the 2 month trip this summer.. ) my Spanish will inevitably be what I trot out of my mouth when I am trying to actually speak French. I have got my doigts crossed x
