At last!!! After a very long few years now of selling their Putney flat, trying to sell the London Bridge flat (still ongoing) and looking for some land to build a house on, Jules & Nicky finally decided that they would buy a lovely house in the country as their new home together. Their gaff is the one on the right in the title image.
H and I toddled down to Liphook – and I’m guessing it will be the first of many visits there – and met up with Jules’ parents for a celebratory coffee in the new kitchen.
Then we were taken off on a walk – the old ‘oh it’s only 1-2 miles’ trick, which is normally Hawksey’s favourite white lie, but this time came from Jules. After about a 4 mile walk, involving me nabbing 4 golf balls as we went past a few holes of a very fancy course – we finally got to a cracking pub called The Deer Hut, for a pub lunch. Which I can honestly say was one of the best I have ever had!!
And thank god, it was only about a mile or so back as Jules’ Dad is recovering from sepsis in his leg and his Mum has had a recent hip replacement – maybe not the most gentle of introductory walks!
But very good to see them in their new pad, surrounded by fabric swatches and furniture books…. Hurrah! x
