Nice hols, but poo – back at work

Greetings campers – Le Renard d'Argent is back from her hols, slightly browner, still coughing (thanks to the contagious James W) and vowing never to eat houmous, tabbouleh or baba ganoush again… even if I could spell it. Pita shitter… no more of that or the infamous 'mix grill' for some time methinks..talk about Groundhog meal three times a day!

But Jordan was good – Petra is indeed awesome, even for a cynical old bag like me – it really rocked. Perhaps Hawkesy & I should have packed more than flipflops to 'do' Petra – after 5 hours walking and a trog up a montain to see the final site, the Monastery, I was still fine but poor H's feet were actually bleeding…. apparently its my job to make sure he packs the right shoes for holidays! The things you learn…

And we just about beat the Pope to the main Jordan sights before he tipped up in his Popemobile – the TV was saying 'and we've upgraded and painted all the places that the Pope will visit' – well, given that we were there 2 days before he was, i couldn't see any evidence of tarting up, pretty much everything still looked and smelled like a shithole, so here's hoping dear old Benedict is a little short on sight, on long on papal foregiveness.

Couldn't wait to see the moggies again – Mojo had chewed her way through a 24 pack of beer to get to the cat flap, quite impressive tiger-style claw marks had left the box in bits. And Conker was firmly attached halfway up the curtains, trying to get a fly resting tantalisingly on the curtain pole. Am sure in their own sweet way they've missed us and are just been like sulky teenagers pretending not to care… Conker also gifted me a great cat bogey this morning as she edged up the duvet with it dangling off her whiskers like a giant clingon, what a lovely start to the day.

So, here I am back at work. Minus my wig for the first time – have been waiting all day for someone to say the immortal phrase 'ooh, you've had your hair cut' but have only had 'mmmm, I quite like your hair' from one person. I think it was the use of the word 'quite' that gave that one away! Highlight of the day so far was a maggot crawling up a beanbag as we had our Monday morning meeting… the lucky occupant was the brand new guy from AV China, just arrived today, nice timing Maxwell.

Must get off my butt and whack some photos on here soon – I've been getting abuse for i) lack of new blogs and ii) lack of photos so will try and do better soon! Sx
