Ran a workshop in Covent Garden for Maryland Cookies yesterday (ate too many of the dry little buggers, the biscuits that is, not the clients) and as came out onto a side road off Covent Garden what sight did I behold?
None other than those little numpties, the irish twins from X Factor, John & Edward standing forlornly on their own outside a silent health club, poised to hand out plastic bags with membership information – and a banana – to anyone passing by. Surreal moment or what?!
50 yards away round the corner was the THROBBING heart of Covent Garden – but they were oddly completely on their own, not even a Minder or an X Factor t-shirt in sight. Went over and said hello to them, took a photo of my colleague with them (well, she's about 22 and I am 41 and can't bear them! Which I'll upload if someone clever at work manages to extract it from my mobile). Poor little buggers did look really tired, so I managed not to advise them they'd be better spending their time practising than handing out soft fruit…. !
