Checks and Balances

So – yesterday I finally broke my long term exercise 'duck' and got off my fat ass to stroll around a hockey pitch. Only for half a game as am trying to schmooze my way into a new team – Aces – who have the major bonuses of about 5 people I know playing for them, plus no midweek training in the Mr Nippy frost & fog.

Actually really enjoyed it – even though they threw in a few spanners like the bloody rules changing since I last played! You can now do weird things like take your own free hit, ie roll it forward and then keep going without having to pass. I know I am sounding VERY old now but its like someone telling you to pick up the ball in football! You spend all these years (ok, decades) learning not to do something – then suddenly its ok! Weirdiola.

Anyway – to celebrate my new found burst of energy (I think I may even have jogged at several points in the match) I came home and scoffed a leftover choc muffin (Sara Fitzherbert that was your fault!), a bag of Walkers sensations (well, you do have to have one every now and then, that Thai Sweet Chili is so good) and a very treat-y Boost bar which I convinced myself I had to take home from the petrol station.

Does one small run round = 3 bits of high sat-fat lard??????

Maybe that's another rule that could possibly have changed too…. just maybe???? Here's hoping.. Sx
