Bizzy Wizzy

Blimey – these wedding things don't half take up a lot of time, heh? Got up at half six on Friday to hoof off to Dorset to check out:

– a possible place for us to stay after the wedding (stunning> about to book it)

– the wedding caterers (impressive, thank god)

– 2 photographers (one a wimpish Lizzy Dripping and the other a Scouse laaaad, liked him)

– and to cough the deposit for the wedding venue (ouch!)

Suspect we'll be up and down the motorway quite a few times between now and next May, but its starting to feel real now that we've booked the venue, nailed the food and are starting to tick a few of the 2000 'to do' things off the list. And also starting to feel exciting!!!! The place really is lovely, and if the sun comes out it'll be totally cracking.

Followed by a weekend of downs (having to get up at 7am on Sat to decide if the hockey pitch would be frozen for our game – answer, yes of course it bloody would be, it was minus 5 overnight) and nice ups – a cracking belly pork dinner with Claire & Jon and Pam, popping out to watch Ashley do the HellRunner course in Surrey (12 miles of bogs, frozen water, rutted tracks and people breaking ankles left right and centre, mmm so glad we were only watching).. oh and some more wedding planning.

Am sitting here now with Hawksey trying to work out how much people will drink at the wedding, laughing our socks off as we compare my mother (half a thimble of sherry), the new mums who'll be there avec bebes (lots of slavering in their minds, but bugger all in reality) and nearly everyone else (their own body weight, and some).

Well, we'll just budget for a shedload (technical term), and have you all round each weekend post-wedding to polish it all off! Sx
