So – just back from three days in wet & grey Clogland, mostly taking Mum to se her older and rather crumbly brother, my Uncle Jan (Oom Jan, as they say in Hollandia).
So a pretty wild time all in all, pushing wheelchairs – Mum in one, Jan in another and my poor 7 months pregnant sister having to take charge of one, as we rolled double-breasted along the oh so handy bike lanes, much to the irritation of many long legged Dutchies on their sit-up-and-beg bikes.
Plus of course some playing with lovely little niece Lily – just at the age where she bellows with fury if she's not allowed to choose her own clothes…. can see she gets that one from her mother (Cathy being the fashionista in our family.) But also lots of cuteness as she inveigled yet another chocolate from the magic bowl, having discarded her actual lunch as a waste of magic-chocolate-stuff eating time.
And a spot of shopping for baby prezzies for the iminent Minimus Martin – Mikey & Margo's boy, who is due in the next week or so. You're very lucky its not wooden tulips, baby clogs, a squeaky windmill or a Build-Your-Own-Dyke… though it was a close run thing.
So – here we are on Valentine's Day. Mr H, not being a brilliant morning person, just about managed a grunt as I deposited his romantic cup of char on the bedside table and legged it off to present to the Added Value masses, all of whom were obviously delighted to have a 2 hour Company Presentation requiring them to all roll into work on time.
But at least I've beaten the masses to Waitrose – suspect there will be blood in the aisles as the Wifezillas fight over the last dregs of the '2 meals for £15' offer before the aisles are closed and they have to resort to Papa Johns Pizza for their romantic soiree in.
Much love to you all – may your love lives thrive and your Valentines flowers stay erect & proud (and definitely both in that order…..)
