Final Spanish visitors

Writing this now from back in Blighty – I got home Sunday night, while Mr H is still out in Spain for another 2 weeks. Back to the joys of 2 lots of chemo and a bone marrow biopsy this week, and a PET CT scan next week – ah yes, back down to earth with the usual bump..

But we had a mighty fine time, with Clare & Andy Booth joining us for 4 nights. On arrival they promptly fell asleep on the sunbeams for 2 hours as they'd been up for 4am to get the early flight, but after that it was all go, go, go. We had one day of – shock horror – slightly cloudy weather, so took the chance to go and explore Medina Sedona, supposedly the oldest city in Europe! Who knew..

Anyway, a nice old town to wander around with the expected church and castle on the top of the hill. And a fine tapas lunch in a little restaurant off the main square. With of course plenty of opportunity to then pop out for a local beer in a frozen terracotta mug at the Che boozer just down the road from our house.

Next day we headed to Cadiz, mostly so they three of them could do a sherry tasting in the cute old market area, while I prowled around like a saddo with the dog waiting outside for them. Did at least have a v nice ice cream by the big church after as my reward..

Also had a very bonus visit from Sarah & Paul Taylor who were in Seville for a long weekend, so nipped down to join us for the day, We made the most of them being in town and headed to the beach, as you do. Fun few hours sunbathing, boys body surfing in the sea and time for drinkies at the end..

An excellent way to finish what has been a really good month (!) away in Spain. A lovely house, really good weather, top friends, an escape from normalcy – and a very loud 'welcome home Mummy' from Miss Mojo late on Sunday night (also at 6am the next morning – slightly less welcome!)
