96 and counting..

So – the last 5 days in Tunisia have taken the Scotty Travel Tally up to a juicy 96 countries of our fabulous world.

Photos to come as I spectacularly managed to totally knacker my camera while on a muscle-battering uncomfortable camel ride in the Sahara during a freak, contact-lens-shredding sandstorm. Bleddy golden sandy stuff + digital whirry mechanisms = grinding to shuddering halt.

Anyway, 4 more cultural vibrant, warm and wonderful little global puppies to go, and the lifetime travel goal will have been reached. (And I will finally be able to go back to places that are actually very nice, rather than trogging on through the getting-more-dubious-ones!)

Our Argentina trip in late Nov/early Dec doesn't count for the list, as already had the pleasure of Iguazu Falls with Liz T some years back (before we got rained on for a solid week in Rio, self-billed as 'the Sunniest City in the World' – my arse).

But hopefully Mr H and I will at least nip to Uruguay for a day or so as its a tempting 2 hours away by ferry, and maybe even a cheeky pop over the Andes in a climbing mule of a hire car, to add the delights of Chile to the totaliser.

Swighty/Woodsie – am about to take another teeny weent magnet from the packet on the back of the brilliant greeny-grey magnetic world map you gave us (well, me really!) for our wedding present, and slip Tunisia tidily into place.

And as its my birthday in as few weeks, that means Christmas is soon to follow – and with some major luck, maybe another year of being able to trot around our amazing planet for another whole, fingers-crossed-and-here's-blooming-hoping year.

96 hey – feels like 9.6 as the world is still such a tempting oyster to prise open, enjoy the salt and scents and have a slobber over.

Here's to endless drooling, S x
