So, Joanna Close (who organised the group of girls to climb the Three Peaks, in aid of Myeloma UK), got a call from the charity people, who wanted to thank us all.
It seems we raised such a HUGE amount of money that they couldn't resist meeting us, so off we trotted to a pizza joint in Waterloo.
So here's a shot of most of the Southern contingent girls, with our ever so natty bendy paper certificates (my God, like being a Brownie, winning the Grow Your Own Crocus Competiton, all over again)…
And below that, you'll see just how bloody brilliant everyone was in doing the Three Peaks and in handing over hard-earned cash to help support everyone. We made an official total of over £24,300, and when you add in all the bits that got sent directly by cheque and kind donations of £20 cash here and there, it was over the magic £25k mark in reality.
Now that is a good effort. An incredibly good effort. When I look at Jo's opening words on the Just Giving site ('Let's do something worthwhile', I said at Scotty's wedding') I sit here nodding – yep girls, you (and everyone who kindly donated) definitely did yourselves proud!! Love you all x
