Spring has sprung…

Well kind of, if you ignore the monster downpour in Hampton Wick just now, which set the freelance design lady's dog off barking like a banshee and delivered my two closest deskmates back here totally sodden. That'll learn them for going over the bridge for a spot of lunch – don't they know it has to be eaten at your desk??

But it's all starting to feel a bit perky isn't it? Tree blossom out – tick. Daffs in full bloom – tick. Daylight till late – tick. BBQ uncovered, only to discover quite revolting substances on it from last year – tick. Oh, and our very large black bread board, which has been missing for 8 months, lurking under the BBQ cover – of course, why didn't I think to look there??

And lots of nice stuff is all lined up and ready to go – weekends away, lots of lovely soirees both in and out. A spot of thinking about hols for back end of year (well, it wouldn't be moe if I wasn't, hey?). Mum is off on Monday to my brother's for a 2 week sojourn, thank god it's warmer now – the January trip nearly put paid to her. Richard isn't a huge believer in actually using your central heating, so I gather… And I am off to Hong Kong on Sun to run some training for a few days. Just hoping the time difference doesn't ruin me like last time – there's nothing quite so grim as finally (finally!) falling asleep at 6.15am only to hear the alarm go off 15 minutes later…..

Some downsides – how on earth did I manage to end up organising the summer hockey for my team? Hatch, if you're reading this, remember you are my able Seconder (and probably First-er) and I shall be darkening your doorstep with last minute 'help me find an umpire / five players' requests. Anything for a run about in the vain hope of still being able to fit into my hockey skirt when the next season starts.

But overall, it's shaping up to be a corker of a spring and summer. I'm meant to be seeing Prof next Friday (the one most likely source of an instant dampener on the spirits) but as that would make me late for a weekend away with Hatch, Fitz & Smithy, he is just going to have to wait. Wonder how his diary's looking for December.. or 2014?…. I wish.

Love to you all, get down the butchers and stock up on meat, campers - barbecue season is well and truly here x
