What to say about the fab destination that somehow manages to keep 'she always in search of new pastures' coming back for more each year?
Well, it was just about as hot there as it was here – plus had some monster thunderstorms, including the one that shut the airport – just as we were trying to land there. Those ominous words from the Captain 'I'm afraid that Miami airpspace has just been closed and now we are….'
Option 1 – Going back to the Turks & Caicos,
Option 2 – Going to land at Tampa / Orlando
Option 3 – Going to land somewhere you've never heard of and abandon you to your 'But we haven't got a travel agent who can help us' fate
Option 4 – hang about in the hope they re-open it
Luckily it was Option 4 – and as we scrambled off I had to feel for the poor sods who were just coming off the Virgin flight from London, into the 'you should have stayed at home, suckers' torrential downpour.
Anyway – Miami was great, new hotel (The Anglers) a mighty fine choice, shopping top notch as ever (despite the 'travel' bag incident), cocktails in jars a definite yay, and the new restaurants we tried out
all total results. Ditto most of our Parrot Cay stay – once we'd snarfed a stonking freebie upgrade to a massive suite with 2 bathrooms, balcony etc. Ho ho ho – maybe those Hawkes negotiation genes are rubbing off after all.
A few pix – not many as bikini ones are for obvious reasons verboten for public dissemination. Can't scare the kids, hey?
