OK, all of you who've had a really crappy long winter look away now. If the reception I got at hockey today is anything to go by ('go away you're a filthy colour' / 'did you have a nice holiday – not that I actually want to hear the answer' / 'you're getting the Thanks for Coming award for missing the last 2 matches' etc) then you probably don't want to see the photos.
Yes – it was lovely. Yes – the water was an incredible turquoise colour. Yes – the beaches were amazingly empty despite it being high season. Yes – we found new places to go to so it didn't feel like a total replica of our honeymoon. Yes – I survived 8 nights with 'who wants a Painkiller (cocktail)' John Nurse also on board. Yes – we saw turtles and rays every day, plus squid, octopus and endless fish. Yes – the boat was brilliant – and even had sunbeds on top for Hannah and me to lie on while the boys pulled ropes to their hearts' content.
But no – I'm not smug about it, I know its a priviledge and appreciated every minute of still being able to do fantastic holidays, while feeling good.
