Mr H 'encouraged' (dragged) me out on a bike ride yesterday, as, to be fair, it was a gorgeous day and worth getting out into it for a spot of exercise and fresh air.
Parked in Walton at Sarah & Paul's and toodled off – the electric bike more than coming into its own when we ended up in Send, Surrey for a much needed bite of lunch. H still thinking that I would cycle the full 45km back to the car where we had a salad in a cool box, and eat it around 2.15pm…. does he not know the 'not after 1pm' hunger monster yet???
But it is a very nice ride all alongside the River Wey and its many locks, albeit a bit bumpy for the old bum cheeks. And liked the rather cute ruined church at Newark.. Sunny, warm and even a bit of tan on the old chops when we got back – although mostly on one side of my face as that's where the sun was, so that's always a great look!
Very nice to then nip into S&P's garden for a chat, glass of water, cuppa and cheeky slice of choc cake that a neighbour had just delivered. Though we did then hear the 2 air ambulances overhead that – it later transpired – were dealing with the 2 people run over deliberately in the M&S car park in Walton (one having been killed). Blimey – we were slightly relieved we hadn't parked there…
So bike has managed another outing – must be down to about £400 a ride so far. Guess we'll need to slot in quite a few more to make it worth me buying it! Chuck in a pub lunch en route and I'll be there x
