Blimey, it's a game of swings and roundabouts isn't it?<\/p>\n
Having been a bit gutted to be shifted from the relative peace and 'able to forget about it for a bit' cycle of 3 monthly appointments to having to do bloods monthly and then see him every third time, I went in this week with the resolve to try and blag him into letting me come every 6 weeks – so just one set of bloods in between the three monthly visits.<\/p>\n
Managed to insert that request into one bit of the conversation and he absent-mindedly nodded away saying 'yes, yes that's fine'. So then Hawksey tried pushing a step further and within another 'not really listening' nod, we were back to only having to do bloods and see him just the once every three months – all that bloody hassle and extra stress of having to do it more often when it seems it's not particularly necessary!!!<\/p>\n
Major grr for the aggro of recent months but a minor victory indeed that I don't now have to go back till December – bloody marvellous. Unless I get 'a fever' he says – it's such an old-fashioned word that I'm not even sure I've ever really had one. (Suspect the old selective memory may be at play here though..)<\/p>\n
Anyway – off the hook unless the body misbehaves or I catch something particularly virulent in Ethiopia. Slightly terrified that we are heading off there in less than 3 weeks now – eek – especially as H mentioned this morning something I have clearly missed from the itinerary (selective reading as well as memory!) about 'massive climb up to the summit of the volcano'. What, the 4X4 doesn't deliver you directly to the upper rim??! 'Taxi for Scotty' moment coming up…<\/p>\n
Fatso here is now in trepidation and awating answer from our delectable Addis Ababa tour agent as to just how steep\/hard\/ludicrous it actually will be..<\/p>\n
