So – there is a new phrase in our house. One that has been trialled on several occasions and each time has proven to be all the more true.<\/p>\n

It is called 'being Nursed'.<\/p>\n

It has nothing to do with existing illness, but everything to do with extremely likely impending sickness. It is what happens when you go on a night out with John & Hannah Nurse – one where you will inevitably end up hideously shitfaced, with no idea how you got home, clothes strewn all over the bedroom door (and no, not for that reason) and throwing up the next morning. In a nutshell, feeling like you have 'been Nursed'.<\/p>\n

We seemed to think it was a very good idea last Friday to basically have three nights out – all on the same night. So we started at our friend Jules' Beers & Buns Bar in Liverpool Street area at 6pm – giving him a bit of mates support despite this not exactly being 'local'.<\/p>\n

Cue a couple of pints of lovely cold Asahi, some small creamy Japanese beer, the delicious Korean\/Japanese duck and pork buns and a few chicken wings. Very nice start. Ah yes, and also the shots balanced on chopsticks over a half of Asahi, where you bash the barrel they are balanced on, and they all fall into the drinks at the same time….<\/p>\n

Then we Ubered to Clapham (for this of you living outside London, the taxi firm Uber, which you summon via an App and pay by direct debit so no faffing with cash, has now been turned into a verb – 'To Uber'). Went to Soif, for some reason shared a cheese fondue (cos that's always a great idea on a drinking night and soaks everything up – not), and a few more drinks.<\/p>\n

At which point Hawksey apparently suggested heading home, a sensible call at 11pm as we'd been out 5 hours and done a two-stop night already. But no – we were 'Nursed' into going on to the Southsider – the cocktail bar on Battersea Rise which knocks out infamously strong Dark & Stormies. <\/p>\n

And god knows what happened after that as I was well and truly Nursed by then (My excuses: They are younger. Do this more often. And have drinking boots the size of cathedrals. And my no carbs diet does not a good base for a night of booze make.)<\/p>\n

Hence a stinker of a hangover last Saturday. Watch out folks for a tall tanned bloke and small blonde one bearing alcohol – you too risk being Nursed.<\/p>\n
