What's a good thing to try when you have a dodgy wrist? Well, fly fishing obviously! Amazingly, the wrist held out (must have been my amazing technique – not) as H and I had a lesson on my birthday and then stood at the trout lake for 3 hours trying to relieve it of a fish.<\/p>\n

Needless to say, I could practically hear the fish bloody laughing – some of them swam by and gave me a wave with their fins, I kid you not, they were that visible and I still couldn't tempt one onto my fly. But it was fun and I can now flick my line and fly like a semi pro (total overcame but it is my birthday!)<\/p>\n

And thence back to Coworth Park for a very good dinner and ton of cocktails – bless the people there for reacting so kindly to my meltdown the night before as they were bloody marvellous on the birthday soiree itself. Shame about my major steroid chops, but here is the obligatory birthday pic pre-dinner.<\/p>\n
