Well – in between the almighty balls up of the cottage that wasn't and various other shenanigans, we did manage to do a few nice things.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Top of my list was paying a huge \u00a36 to get us into a petting farm where we were able to hold chickens (shame that photo is on H's phone, the two of us sitting like kids on a hay bale holding chickens must have been a right sight. Especially when city slicker Scotty actually had to ask 'what are they?' when the small scrabbly feathery things were placed in her hands).<\/p>\n

Then we got to hold a lamb – THAT was the true top of the list. Warm, fuzzy, not very wriggly and obviously recognising me as one of its own species, in slightly different form. That was a very AAAAHHHHHCH moment. Took me a while to give it back and also to get over the thought of what we were have as roast dinner that evening – yep, you'v guessed it. Oh dear.<\/p>\n

And then there was the very lovely birthday cake, baked by Janine Delia Capon herself which actually tasted of cake, was nice and moist, wasn't burnt and was the first she'd made in about 20 years – top notch carrot cake for the boy. Well done J.<\/p>\n

Intersperse this with the back-breaking view of Ross teaching Flossy for the very first time she was allowed outside, how to walk to heel (think they may have some way to go with this – 4 years in and we never cracked it with Scrumpy!)<\/p>\n

While we (well, H – my fat ass was firmly parked on a groyne, so to speak) gave Scrumpy a good run up and down a nice sunny Littlehampton beach. Not exactly busy, as you can see! Master and hound, just loving' it.<\/p>\n

Back to reality now – hope you had good Easters and are face down in high quality choc still.<\/p>\n
