In a nutshell, I got here at 10am.
\nHad bloods, blood pressure, height, weight, temp, peed in a pot.
\nSaw Prof 11am, got extra diuretic prescribed as my feet swelled up like buggery from all the walking in Rome this weekend (proper revue of that when I've downloaded photos). Have got my cankles back and very pretty they are not.
\nHad a horror show finding a vein for the canula – two unsuccessful attempts halfway up arm and back of hand, lots of digging and ferreting, till finally go 3 located an actual vein. Bloody sore, Janie B bless her, trying to distract me with crossword clues and general merriment, cheers for coming me love!
\nHad a second delay over getting the new drug, something to do with screening my blood for Hepatitis. No, I don't have that.
\nNew drug was preceded by about 4 bags of random drip stuff, from extra steroids (like I need any more of those evil little suckers) to Piriton to try and reduce the likelihood of side effects.
\nNow had 3 hours of Elotuzumab being dropped in, they start v slowly to check for adverse reactions like breathlessness, rashes, hives etc. Luckily, so far, so good.
\nWas meant to see David Rea this afternoon but had to cancel as treatment was dragging on so long, that's always a grrrrrr moment.
\nMr H popped in on way back from work, sent him off home to pack his bag for Parkside tomorrow. We have to turn up at 6.45am to check in for his knee replacement op. Poor love is understandably bricking it.
\nIt's 5.30pm now and the drip is still ticking away. I'm definitely going to be unplugging myself, turning the lights out and locking the chemo lounge door at this rate. Never been here so late!
