Well, it's looking more likely than ever now. It's 10.45pm, I'm just back from 'date night' with a rather tired hubby and the alarm is set for 5.15am. Not that I'll probably get much kip – I am both over-excited and the brightest red ever today, a delectable combination of my last set of rouge-inducing steroids for 13 days (Billy bonus) and having been facially waxed within an inch of my life by Lulu at Regal Nails. A pocket sized Vietnamese skin assassin, game on for dealing with the beard-effects of said steroids… Man oh man I now shine like a luminous glowy thing, and not entirely in a good way.
\nBag is packed, bursting with tonics as we'll be getting in a pre-emptive bottle of Tanq at LHR, as I hear Tennessee only sells hard liquor made in its own state. Which is fine for the odd Jack Daniels but it's always worth having a G&T about your person, I find… We've been caught out by that 'two beers please', 'two root beers coming right up' bizarre US conversation before…
\nCan't wait for
\n– Sawgrass Mills mall
\n– the Dixie Hoedown
\n– the Dollywood water park
\n– dawn in the Smkey Mountsins, as I fruitlessly search for a tuna breakfast bagel
\n– a pink colada on a subbed, in actual sunshine
\n– being able to swim in a pool, as my chest should now be pain free enough to allow not sinking
\n– Our groundHog day same every year lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, where we've never ever had the actual cheesecake
\n– Miami cocktails as we people watch the extremes of the world go by
\n– nailing a Kate Spade summer handbag, or shoes or any accessory that doesn't require me being my pre-treatment normal size and shape
\n– and not being at PS 5 times a bloody week, that's a massive bonus all by itself
\nKeep your fingers crossed it all goes ok and the \u00a31100 travel insurance is not called upon. Quite happy not to get my money's worth there if at all possible.
