A slightly better day. Always a bit tentative in saying that as it risks the wrath of something unexpected. A slow start as felt exhausted – no the sleep didn't come, but as I've been 90% unconscious for the previous 2.5 days, perhaps no great surprise.<\/p>\n
Mr H managed to help me to have a shower and hair wash and the daily jimjams change. It hopefully won't be the last shower in here but if timings stick to previous form, I won't be needing Aussie Miracle for some time. Just a waiting game for now.<\/p>\n
Main two consultants both came in to check on me and rejig the drugs dosages as best they can, impressive on a Sunday. Mikey and Margo sent the second of two very cute videos, this one Patrick praying for me, while yesterday's wished me better. Out of the mouths of babes..<\/p>\n
Had what may be my final banana milkshake as sadly these were fizzing rather bizarrely in my furry kingdom of a gob. But, here's hoping this is progress – I have requested two actual sandwiches for tomorrow's meals. Nothing off the hot menu as am not there yet, and the sarnie may not get love… but we will see.<\/p>\n

Medically, had a new needle inserted semi permanently into my stomach, sub cutaneous, so injections can be delivered in here. They still sting but it saves on a few jabs. Main cannula has been relocated to left hand and is bloody sore. Plus the usual pile of steroids, antibiotics, fluids and 2 bags of platelets. The platelets freak me out slightly as they are from other people and I don't remember having these last time. So feels like a weirdly intrusive thing that also happens to look like a bag of thick wee.<\/p>\n
H has just left to go collect the dog beast from Soph's, where she and Laura have been holding a canine pamper day. They also kindly cooked H dinner, chicken and chorizo with sprouts. It actually sounded nice, so while I still didn't want any, maybe this is a step in the right direction in terms of being well enough to eat again. Or was it just the thrill of the Sproutfest, one of my fave veggies?<\/p>\n
At least I won't be home tonight when those little puppies get to work on his innards… ah, small mercies.<\/p>\n
Had a little perk at end of day when I tried to disconnect the evil rolling air bed, only to set off alarms at both the plug end and the controller panel. Managed to persuade the sensible night fellow David that I was now moving enough to not need it, and he humped it off. The replacement mattress doesn't quite fit, but I have that and the actual duvet back in play. Bye bye snarl of sheet and thin blanket.<\/p>\n
Bit sad that by 2am as I was awoken to do obs and popped for a pee, it's pretty clear my hair got the memo on anticipated timings and is behaving accordingly. Strands of it in the bed, on my shoulders and in my hand as I lightly ran my fingers through it. Ah bollocks.
