Awake by 5.45am, thirsty. Drinking is still a very slow, concentrated affair but at least liquid is going in. That'll hopefully keep me out of here (she says, holding her IV out of the with right hand, so left hand can type..) Only another 8 hours on this bugger to go…<\/p>\n
Dozed on and off most of morning. Physio came and did bed exercises. Customer Care bloke popped in but was utterly wet, so I think I might email in a few 'observations' as while the nursing staff are very good, the level of maintenance of basic equipment is very poor. The 'too big for the bed frame' mattress, Obs stands that squeak every time they are moved etc.<\/p>\n
Finally got home about 2pm. Feeling a bit flat strangely as mouth does not improve from day to day and it's 8 days already now. It smells and feels foul. Had a go at a mouthwash but had to spit it straight out' seemed really salty and I just couldn't keep it in. Tried a kip but the dulcet tones of 'Oh When The Saints' rose up to greet me again, oh double bugger.<\/p>\n
Soph popped in from her gaff up the road, for an early evening hello. Scrumpy started sniffing her bottom at which point she realised she'd put a Lindor egg for me in her back jeans pocket, which was now totally flat with its oils neatly spreading across her butt…. cue having to sit on a bit of kitchen towel for the rest of the visit.<\/p>\n
Best thing was a good exfoliate, sitting on my hockey-watching flap down chair in the shower, followed by an oily bath. My skin is peeling still like a complete sod, I am a human snow globe, so need to find the base level and grow a new one back from there.<\/p>\n
