Hmm, it seems my 'pottering about yesterday in celebration of the back feeling somewhat better' was a touch premature: been bloody sore again all day Sat as maybe I overdid it on Friday. It's still better than it was a week ago, but aching and sore and I went back on the sub-lingual painkillers to see me through the day, poo.<\/p>\n

Did have two highlights though – made it down to our home hockey pitch at Tiffins to watch my team play. Shame we lost 0-3 to a rather arsey team, but was good to get some (very!) fresh air and see the girls, first time since SCT. And at least a woolly hat over the old head doesn't look out of place when on the pitch sideline in the chilly wind.<\/p>\n

And then last night Mr H and I popped up to Wimbledon Village and I finally reacquainted myself with a cocktail, or four. It's been 45 days since I went in for transplant and I've just not fancied booze at all. Even Fri night when he and Nurse were pouring large G&Ts I was still 'hmm, naaah' and was on a large glass of squash, so was very pleased and relieved to discover in Hemingways last night, that I'd not fully lost my cocktail drinking touch.<\/p>\n

One more step nearer normality, and I even managed to put on a pair of (much baggies, since all the hospital shenanigans) pair of jeans, and some lipstick – get me.<\/p>\n

Though until my bleddy back also returns to the fold, life remains a bit tentative and sore. But still damn good to actually get out for the first night outside the house (apart from at the cottage) in a very long time. More cocktails perhaps needed to loosen the back fully and mend it?
