And it was a mixed old bag&#8230;.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cracked through a few overdue chores, still a very long list of overdue crud to be dealt with, snore<\/li>\n<li>Bumped into Abi at CCL, a now-friend that Liz T introduced me to, who is a simLara he to me and being treated for breast cancer. One of those bizarre conversations in the &#39;waiting for bloods&#39; room that covered everything from worries about not being well enough to get the next dose of chemo (ah the irony of having to be fit enough to have poison pumped in), through to betting on when my hair might start to grow back, to who&#39;s beating who at Words with Friends. Surreal but comforting talking to someone in a similar uncertain rocky boat.<\/li>\n<li>Liz T brought a picnic style lunch over, good natter and catch up on all things including why I have a large amethyst on the kitchen counter (a &#39;healing&#39; gift from mum&#39;s carers, very sweet, if not entirely &#39;me&#39;).&#0160;<\/li>\n<li>Older sister Cathy arrived from Holland, with the usual gigantic suitcases as if she&#39;s emigrating back to the UK, rather than just here for 3 nights. Marvelled at her &#39;only the Dutch could conjure this up&#39; gift of a bottle of Tulip Bulb Vodka. Yes, really&#8230;.. and it does kind of smell a bit earthy&#8230;<a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01b8d267dbb1970c-pi\" style=\"float: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"IMG_4007\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a0105359a4116970b01b8d267dbb1970c img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01b8d267dbb1970c-500wi\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;\" title=\"IMG_4007\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Had the essential afternoon kip &#8211; cat on chest, dog by feet, couple of cheeky squares of Dairy Milk to satisfy the oral pleasure sensors as I drifted off, thank you very much.<\/p>\n<p>Then delighted that I made it up to the Common with Hawksey, to do my first dog walk since SCT. Wrapped up in multiple hat layers, puffa jacket, scarf, back support, gloves &#8211; god, I was bloody boiling within minutes and had to strip half of it off&#8230;. Back was as ever sore, but really good to be doing something normal, get some fresh air and have a &#39;how was your day&#39; chat with the hubby while we were at it.<\/p>\n<p>H then prised Cathy out of the local DIY shops for dinner together at home &#8211; which just had to involve sausages, as Holland just doesn&#39;t knock out a good banger. Sated the sisterly lust for saucisson. So to speak&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>So, a busy day, interspersed with some online shopping deliveries (ah those naughty steroids have a lot to answer for at night when I&#39;m awake and let my fingers do the walking on the iPad&#8230;). Have discovered I&#39;m definitely not the same size I was before SCT as the new tops are hanging off me. Now that&#39;s a novel experience in my world.
