Hmm, it seems the hope of March has given way to the treading water frustration of April.<\/p>\n
I'm no longer getting better or improving in any way, and hitting the plateau of 'so this is what it's going to be like from now on' is a pretty disappointing place to get to. It's all the usual boring stuff – daily pain from my useless crappy back, feeling tired and needing to nap most days and not having any capacity for 'proper' exercise. The one thing that we are planning to try at the weekend is getting my on my old bike, which lives at the cottage, to see if cycling might be possible.<\/p>\n
So watch out if you're in West Sussex over Easter, for a bald, puffing fat bird on two wheels…<\/p>\n
But in the meantime I feel kind of 'stuck'. My hair is taking soooooooooo long to grow into anything resembling anything more than a tennis ball \/ baby's bum fluff, that I can't think about how to start going back to work. I just don't want to open the door to 'ooh I wonder what's wrong with her \/ that kind of hair only means one thing' kind of comments. Not that most people would say anything, but it's human nature to mentally question why people look different to the norm. So, until I at the very least have a hockey girl short crop, I'm not getting out in client-facing public. Although very happy to do anything behind the scenes, or with chums, till then.<\/p>\n
So, am a bit in treading water mode. Pissed off that 'this is it' for the rest of my life and gutted that I will never regain the fitness, flexibility and ability to do all manner of stuff that I've lost over the last few years particularly. Went to my first Pilates class in many months yesterday, and yes, having metal rods in your lower back does indeed make the 'roll down, one vertebra at a time' movement nigh on impossible. And quite a few others too..<\/p>\n
Anyone with daytime hours on their hands, just let me know, as distraction beats filling my day with dull chores hands down … dog walking, cinema, lunch, pottering round a market etc all welcome! X <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
