Now that never happens on a Bank Holiday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>luckily it coincided with us hiring Thumper, a small chugger boat, just about big enough to hold the vast amounts of fishing equipment we hopefully lugged on board.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01b7c91ac65e970b-pi\" style=\"float: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"IMG_0374\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a0105359a4116970b01b7c91ac65e970b img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01b7c91ac65e970b-500wi\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;\" title=\"IMG_0374\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Miraculously, I caught a natty little School Bass within ten minutes of setting off. Wow, this bodes well we all thought.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01b8d2a53430970c-pi\" style=\"float: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"IMG_0360\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a0105359a4116970b01b8d2a53430970c img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01b8d2a53430970c-500wi\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;\" title=\"IMG_0360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Sadly the next six long hours of dangling rag worm, mackerel feathers and various sparkly fish attractors got us absolutely nowhere And the first fish was too small to eat, so we went home sunburned and sea glazed but without a fishy for our little dishy..<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01bb09be050d970d-pi\" style=\"float: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"IMG_0367\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a0105359a4116970b01bb09be050d970d img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01bb09be050d970d-500wi\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;\" title=\"IMG_0367\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Scrumpy and Flossy both proved to be natural salty sea dogs, though thank god the lead just about kept the swim-loving Spaniel in the boat as she did rather enjoy the sea breeze in her ears..<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01bb09be043f970d-pi\" style=\"float: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"IMG_0398\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a0105359a4116970b01bb09be043f970d img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01bb09be043f970d-500wi\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;\" title=\"IMG_0398\" \/>Topped off the weekend with a very nice (flat!) walk by the River Bamber, two very stinky mud dogs had a whale of a time and once we had watched some other luckless fisherman fail to land a huge mullet after a 15 minute battle, we did feel somewhat better. &#0160; Happy cooty days &#8211; and liquid nights x&#0160;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01b8d2a534fc970c-pi\" style=\"float: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"IMG_0402\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a0105359a4116970b01b8d2a534fc970c img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/scottysblog.typepad.com\/.a\/6a0105359a4116970b01b8d2a534fc970c-500wi\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;\" title=\"IMG_0402\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just back from lovely 4 days down at the coot with Mr H, J&amp;R and the two dog beasts.
