The adventures have continued, out here in mostly-sunny Sanlucar. We've been trying to pack in as much as possible as its now our last week and there's still a lot we'd like to do.<\/p>\n

We splashed out a whole 7 euros on our very own paella pan and Janine magic-ed up a seafood and rice bonanza the other night. Somehow we also managed to eat 2 whole chickens as well, the sea air must be making us extra peckish..<\/p>\n

Ross (and H) finally went off to the waterside in search of fish, not sure why it took them 3 weeks when the sea is only 200 yards away but that's men and fishing for you. Ross – at last!!! – caught his much longed for bass. It was however all of 8cm long and he would have thrown it back in, had it not eaten his hook rather thoroughly. That tiny mouthful of fish each, carefully done on the bbq, was indeed memorable.<\/p>\n

On the theme of fish, Ross & I went to try out the 'ictioterapia' at the salon on the corner by our Spanish lessons. Also known as 'many small fish eating the dead dry skin off your feet'. Highly amusing and we did our best to do as the salon man instructed – not to stand up in the tank in case we squashed his fish.<\/p>\n

And at last – I don;t know HOW MANY times the 4 of us have been past our closest little eateries, Bar Perico, only to find it well and truly 'creed' (shut) as much of Spain is at this time of year. But finally – it was open one day!!! We stopped in for a cheeky 'cana' (small beer) and shortly went back for a proper lunch. Fishy tapas a gogo.<\/p>\n

One rather nice thing around here, is the number of pretty tiled walls, showing everything from sherry & restaurant signs to religious bits and pieces. Still a real nice touch when you're wandering around the streets..<\/p>\n

Have had some glorious afternoons this week, including yesterday when we snuck up onto our lower roof (there is a higher one too but the dogs don't like the spiral staircase much). Lay sunbathing reading my Conde Nast Traveller very happily until little miss furry chops decided she too wanted to bask a bit, and that Mummy's lap was the best place to do it.. Not much reading done after that, just a lot of brushing off dog hair.<\/p>\n

And whatever the weather, the sunsets always manage to put a smile on your face. This is last night as we ambled back along the boardwalk, with tired sandy dogs…<\/p>\n

Jane & Jon arrived yesterday and Clare & Andy are coming in by train to Jerez this afternoon so more to follow on our final days with chums in Sanlucar x x  <\/p>\n
